Ruby Rock it & Scrap FX!!

Woohoo!!
Happy Friday, Scrappy Peeps!

Today and tomorrow we are having a joint blog hop with Scrap FX and their wonderful design team, so, please be sure to check the Ruby Rock it page BOTH days for a chance to win a FAB prize from BOTH companies!

If you arrived here and just checking in, be sure to go to the Ruby Rock-it blog and start hopping HERE.

Hopefully, you have arrived here from Cindy Porter's pretty little blog.

Today I have a LO to share about 'my' boys (my little guy & his two buddies I take care of this summer). I bought some mustaches at Old Navy on clearance and we all had some fun with them.
These little guys are as funny as they are spirited and I am so happy to have them all in my home.
LO uses papers from Ruby Rock-it's summer release 'At Last' & 'Celebrate'
I love these little chipboard pieces - the details on them are just fab!
I chose to leave them natural and uncovered on my LO to tie in with my kraft tag & base cardstock that I used.

Red & teal are one of my favorite colour combos these days.

Cards with Vellum

I was really excited when I realized that the July Hip 2-B Square kit included vellum! Vellum is one of those products that is making a comeback. It was really trendy when I first began scrapping 8 years ago. Of course, since I was still learning the ins & outs of the hobby at that time, I was a bit unsure how to use this product and ended up giving the small stash I had of it away in the end. The vellum now is nothing like it was when I first started scrapping. Most of my old stash had cute sentiments printed on it. This stuff comes by the sheet and you can you it a number of ways- embossing, stamping, layering. The possibilities are vast. I used it on 2 of my cards today, I punched out a butterfly and layered it on my first card. I adhered it to the card in the center & then used enamel dots cover the adhesive & draw your eye to the butterfly. I love adding subtle details to my projects - they lend interest to a project while keeping it from looking like a hot mess.

On this next card,  I simply cut a rectangle and layered it on my card base.
Again, the detail is very subtle but still noticeable.

This last card makes great use of the sticker sheet that was included in this month's kit.
My favorite HAS to be the airplane.

Mister Personality

Sometimes, you have to scrapbook, just to scrapbook.
No deadlines & no specific products to use.
This page is just that.
I pulled out some Basic Grey Bowties that I ordered and got this past spring and did another old page over for my little guy's first album. (I'm almost done!!) Love this picture of him at 10 months old. This pose is a complete and total fluke. I just love it. This whole, 'look at me' expression on his face. One thing about my boy (even still) is he is always smiling.

Papers: American Crafts (grey polka dots), Basic Grey; banners, stickers, alphas: Basic Grey, buttons: American Crafts; circle labels: Queen & Company.

Found Art

Happy Sunday, Peeps!
Today I have a LO and a few pictures to share of our recent excursion to the caves in St. Martins.

I couldn't even begin to tell you the last time I was there, it was so long ago. We had a nice lunch on the boardwalk and then went for a little walk once the tide went out.

None of us had the proper footwear, so we walked barefoot (which was a bit difficult on such rocky terrain) but the pain was worth it. The colours inside the cave were so beautiful. I was happy that I lugged my trusty Rebel with me.

You can kind of see the rusty clay & the green moss behind my guys and the below picture is what it looked like up close (I barely photo edited this at BTW-the greens are that bright)

I couldn't ignore the contrast of this leaf against the cavern floor. I am sure anyone who saw me focusing in on this probably thought I was a bit cuckoo but I could NOT resist.

I have also been scrapping a bunch with the July kit from Hip 2-b Square.
I found this picture that was in Little Man's book-bag the last week of school. He loves to draw (like - LOVES it) but rarely colours his pictures in. I knew that my hubby would just love to see this pic of our little 'side-enterprise' that Connor drew AND coloured.

3 Ring Circus

Happy Saturday!
Today, I wanted to share a Ruby Rock-it page I did in conjunction with Becky Fleck's awesome August sketch from PageMaps

For this LO, I used my go-to favorite line from Ruby Rock-it - Carnival King & the Sugar Candy line of embossed card stock that I didn't even know RR carried until I received a box of it from them!

Make sure you stop by the Pagemaps website and check out
all the inspiration from Becky and the rest of my team mates!

..I'm Awesome

When my sweet little nephew had to get glasses, we were a bit worried he wouldn't be OK with it and tried to build him up as much as we could when we saw him in them for the first time. As you can see, he rocked them and then he said, "I look like I'm awesome". Of course, he had no issues at all.
That really stuck with me. I am so happy for that confidence that he has and it's true: he IS awesome.

Vellum is making a comeback and I love the added detail it gives to a page without making it look too fussy. I punched this out of a vellum sheet and layered it with a brad & twine.

My Sweet Monkey

Happy August 1st AND Happy Thursday!
This Summer just seems to be F L Y I N G by, doesn't it?
I have 2 more LOs I did using the July Hip 2-B Square kit to share today.
The first one is a picture I have had on my phone forever and I had some time to kill at Wal-mart recently and printed it off.
I LOVED all the ephemera bits and pieces in this kit and had a lot of fun creating a  collection peeking out behind my photo. I added white cardstock to most of my alphas and trimmed them down to keep my title from blending into my background collage.

**Layout done with July Hip 2-B Square kit + Add-ons

This LO is an old one that I did over. The old page was a 12x12". The ONE drawback I have with 8.5x11" pages  is the amount of larger pictures I can incorporate on one page, Even though I trimmed the pics down a bit, I still couldn't make it work on one page.
These cork pieces from Fancy Pants are a new favorite of mine. And they are adhesive. SCORE!!
